Ion channels regulate the flow of ions accross the cell
membrane.
For humans the most important electrolytes are
sodium (Na+), potassium (K+), calcium (Ca2+),
magnesium (Mg2+), chloride (Cl-), phosphate
(PO43-), and hydrogen carbonate (HCO3-).
At Royal Spring Water we add calcium (Ca2+),
chloride (Cl-), magnesium (Mg2+), potassium (K+),
and hydrogen carbonate (HCO3-). Knowing that
people take in electrolytes from other sources,
Royal Spring Water, Inc. adds only a very tiny trace
amount of these selected electrolytes.
While it is true that sodium (Na+) is the most
common electrolyte outside the cells, most people
consume much more sodium (Na+) than they need
so we do not add any sodium (Na+) at all. All of our
beverages are sodium (Na+) free.

It is estimated that there are around 100,000,000,000 (one hundred billion)
cells in the human body. These cells must communicate for your body to
function. This communication is done electrically with electrolytes.
Everything that you do requires electrolytes. Standing up, sitting down,
hearing, smelling, seeing, thinking, eating, digesting food, and breathing
all require electrolytes or they will not happen.
