The Ice Age
Some time later the land began to cool and the air became drier.
30% of the world’s land mass was covered with ice.
The massive Laurentide Ice Sheet covered much of what are now
the United States and Canada with ice up to 2 miles thick. So much
ice was on the land that the ocean shore was estimated to be as
much as 450 feet below where it is today.
